What does a color blindness simulator show?

It transforms image colors to approximate how some distinctions may change under a selected color-vision deficiency pattern. Use it to find information that becomes difficult to distinguish, not to predict one person’s exact perception.

What are protanopia, deuteranopia, and tritanopia?

They are forms of dichromacy associated with absent or non-functioning long-, medium-, or short-wavelength cone responses. Protanopia and deuteranopia affect many red-green distinctions; tritanopia affects some blue-yellow distinctions.

Is this a medical test?

No. This is an educational design aid based on a published simulation model. It does not diagnose color-vision deficiency, and individual color perception varies.

Is my image uploaded?

How should I fix a design that relies on color alone?
